This is a story of a disastrous weekend for Lance and me. It included a crash and a forced overnight bike abandonment. Yet the whole experience, aside from the fear and the frustration, left me with the knowledge that we are surrounded by and incredible number of incredible people, whom are willing to help out beyond the point of what we’d consider reasonable.

Come and ride the wonderful Baviaanskloof with a group of like minded BMW enthusiasts over the period 26th to 29th February.
Our route will take us on a lovely detour as we head to and ride through this unforgettable Kloof.
The water crossings are sure to create lots of excitement and there will be many photo opportunities as we slowly make our way through the ever changing tracks and scenery.

Julie hates passes. Especially dirty ones. Somehow I had to get her over a few before she realises what is happening, so that I can prove that they are nothing to fear.
We have been looking forward to the BMW Bike Fest 2011 since the end of the inaugural Bike Fest last year. Finally, it arrived and we set off on a leisurely ride to Montagu for an overnight stop, with some dirt roads thrown in for fun.
Last weekend, whilst idling my time away at the Buff, I had a choice... spend the day watching loads of people drink, get drunk, make idiots of themselves and bugger up their bikes, or disappear into the wild blue yonder and go adventuring. The latter won out.
