We had 11 bikes and one pillion. Although overcast the weather was dry and not too cold. As I had not got the group lost for a while now, I dutifully took the wrong off-ramp from the N1 and got us horribly lost in Paarl, thanks to Andy for coming to the rescue and taking us for a tour through Paarl to get us back on track. After that other than pesky stop-go it was plain sailing with some excitement going over Hells Hoogte. The venue (Hudsons) were ready for us and the service was reasonably good.

Route

This is an easy picturesque route and ideal for newcomers. The route follows the Visserhoek back roads to Durbanville, Klipheuwel to Wellington onwards to Riebeck Kasteel via the R44/46 and finally Riebeck Wes where we will stop for breakfast at the Pleasant Pheasant.

Meet at the Plattekloof Pick n Pay, the new breakfast run meeting point for an 08h00 departure.

This is a fairly long ride around 180km one way, thus we will depart a little earlier than usual at 07:30am. Abbey Rose in Greyton is our destination.
