Ride report 1-7-2012, TAR breakfast ride

Max Lange's picture

We had 11 bikes and one pillion. Although overcast the weather was dry and not too cold. As I had not got the group lost for a while now, I dutifully took the wrong off-ramp from the N1 and got us horribly lost in Paarl, thanks to Andy for coming to the rescue and taking us for a tour through Paarl to get us back on track. After that other than pesky stop-go it was plain sailing with some excitement going over Hells Hoogte. The venue (Hudsons) were ready for us and the service was reasonably good. The meals were priced OK but coffee, latte’s etc were very expensive which pushed the bill up considerably.

After breakfast we all made our separate way back.

Thanks Max for leading, Kobus for sweeping and thanks to all the others who made up the ride.

We have not been on a brekky ride for quite a while so it was good to get out with the guys n gals to sweep out the cobwebs from the mind.

Shane was introducing us to his swanky K1200 sport. Really looks very cool,

There's something extremely relaxing about riding near the rear of a group to a breakfast. Just following the wheel ahead of you and being able to look around and take in the environs, seeing things you seldom notice if you are also navigating. All you have to do is follow and then there's a warm cosy fire to gather around, hot drinks and lekker breakfast.

Hudson's Eggs Benedict was good, the side salad had a nice tangy dressing and the hollandaise source over the eggs was done well.

Thanks Max
