Scheduled for the Easter weekend in 2011, this event promises to be two full festive days of celebrating the fantastic bikes we ride and their owners.
The weekend is arranged by BMW owners for BMW owners and enthusiasts! This event has the full support of BMW Motorrad SA and the dealer network.

For 1st timers – this is an owners event, which is very important to note. The weekend is arranged by BMW owners for BMW owners and enthusiasts! This event has the full support of BMW Motorrad SA and the dealer network.

The day activities are completely your own choice, the organisers will arrange recommended rides and local activities, then it is up to you and your fellow riders to exercise your own freedom or just go with the flow.

The main organised activities are the evening dinners where you can rub shoulders with fellow riders, enjoy great local food & wine, be entertained and win some fantastic prizes.

Oudtshoorn welcomed the Bike Fest in 2010, and the Mayor of Oudtshoorn invited us to return in 2011 to enjoy the excellent fellowship of like-minded people and make use of the local expertise of hosting well-known events like the KKNK to enjoy our festival. Oudtshoorn & its people are waiting to welcome you!

“It has to be an Adventure. It has to be a Festival. And it has to offer more choices!” – These comments summarised some of the feedback we received at the 2009 BMW Bikers Gathering, and the feedback from the 2010 event confirmed that the new format provided the riders what they wanted.

An added bonus is that the 27th of April and 1st of May are public holidays – therefore with 1 day’s leave on the 26th – this becomes a 6 day weekend. Or 4 days’ leave turns it into a 12 day break!

GETTING THERE AND BACK  It is entirely up to you how you get to Oudtshoorn and back! With 2 public holidays following the Bike Fest this is the ideal opportunity to circumnavigate South Africa, ride the 29th Parallel or 29th Longitude, the passes in the Western Cape, or more remote routes that there are never time for!
Another possibility to make the trip to Oudtshoorn and back in comfort and saving energy for all the fantastic routes and activities at the BMW Bike Fest, is by booking yourself & your bike onto the scheduled JB Train Tour.
CHECK here for more info on the options, or give Johan Badenhorst & his team a call on call 0861 528687 for more details or to book. This can be an adventure on its own.
They just released a special early bird offer:
Book and pay your deposit before 31st December 2010 and qualify for a 10% discount (Both biker and pillion)Book and pay your deposit before 31st January 2011 and qualify for a 5% discount (Both biker and pillion)

They are both recommended for their excellent service and quality rentals.

Q & A
What if a friend who rides a different brand of motorcycle would like to join me? Although this is a BMW-focused event – if they are accompanied by a BMW rider, they are welcome, please bring them with!  What does the Event fee of R 700 buy me? The fee is structured to cover the cost of, and provide:   >  organising the event which includes the bookings, area & site visits, liaising with local authorities, promoting the event, etc.  >  an event pack with programme, information of the region, gifts, etc.

>  High quality Slazenger Golf Shirt with event logo's.

>  assistance to book your accommodation

>  medical standby & back upon-site technical support  >  a bus service to and from your accommodation for the dinners at Kleinplaas (Oudtshoorn only)

>  Saturday and Sunday dinner tickets

>  use of Kleinplaas facility

>  entertainment during the dinners

>  bar facilities

>  marque tent (additional cost this year due to weather risks)

>  extra lighting and 3 phase connection cost to main supplies from street

>  sound system

>  tables, chairs, glasses, cutlery, etc. including the washing of dishes

>  serving staff

>  extra toilet facilities

What will be different from BMW Bikefest 2010?

>   Participants will pay one inclusive fee to attend the 2011 event, as explained above. 2010 saw too many options when registering, which caused confusion.

>   Both dinners will be hosted at one venue (Kleinplaas), with a simpler ticket system. Dinners for the BMW Bike Fest 2010 took place at 2 venues, with a ticket system that worked fairly well. This caused unnessary costs – with 2 venues that needed to be setup, people to be ferried a fair distance, etc.

>  Exclusive high quality BMW Bike Fest 2011 Golf shirt will be included in the registration fee due to popular demand.

>   Even better entertainment (we hope... :-) )

>   New off-road route options

There will be a few other changes – but these are being kept “secret” as there need to be some surprises....  :-)
