Breakfast Ride - Tulbagh 20 May 2012

Sunday morning came and with it a lovely little bit to the air, we are in winter after all. Arriving at the departure point, it was myself and and a fellow 650GS. Looked like it was going to be a 2 horse show. However, 15min later we grew 10 bikes (12 people) in total. Having a nice display of bikes for the day, 2 Adventures, a GS, the RT's, 650GS, and a certain Mr Dunn who arrived in his burnt orange K1300S.

29 Jan 2012 - "Tulbagh" Breakfast Ride

What a day, from having to wait for participants of a cycling race, smoke and fire and really warm temperatures, we really had a good time.

Leaving this morning at just after 07h30, we had 22 riders on 14 bikes. The weather was nothing short of stunning, but we already know that whilst it was relatively cool still, that was going to change and boy did it change. Heading out from Plattekloof we made for BainsKloof pass via some back routes.

Boulders Bush Pub and Restaurant

We departed a little after eight via Contemanskloof, the back of Durbanville to Wellington and on to Tulbagh. This was a very cold ride indeed with the temperature not much above nine degrees for most of the way. Judy was our host and a hot breakfast with lots of coffee and toast was enjoyed by all. Price was R45:00 per head which was good value. It was fantastic to see Chris Dunn on a ride again, thanks to all who braved the cold to join us. Paddagang

Paddagang: Breakfast in TulbachPaddagang: Breakfast in Tulbach Twenty of us set off at just after eight in rather cold and overcast conditions. After all the rain of the past week we were surprised at the good turnout, two Honda’s one Kawasaki and the rest BMW’s made it to Tulbach. Mist along the way slowed the group down, but all in all the ride was pleasant taking just a little over an hour. Gerrit and Bubbles welcomed us on arrival, they had arranged tables together outside under some old vines, however on seeing the fires inside we quickly requested a move inside which was warm and cosy. Coffee and tea were ordered followed by a rather nice breakfast. Gerrit informed me that Paddagang had donated two bottles of Port for the Club. Two plates of food ordered would have a single flower on it and the recipients of these
