Paddagang

Paddagang: Breakfast in TulbachPaddagang: Breakfast in Tulbach Twenty of us set off at just after eight in rather cold and overcast conditions. After all the rain of the past week we were surprised at the good turnout, two Honda’s one Kawasaki and the rest BMW’s made it to Tulbach. Mist along the way slowed the group down, but all in all the ride was pleasant taking just a little over an hour. Gerrit and Bubbles welcomed us on arrival, they had arranged tables together outside under some old vines, however on seeing the fires inside we quickly requested a move inside which was warm and cosy. Coffee and tea were ordered followed by a rather nice breakfast. Gerrit informed me that Paddagang had donated two bottles of Port for the Club. Two plates of food ordered would have a single flower on it and the recipients of these flowers would receive the Port. The winners were Brian and Clayton’ wife, a rather nice touch from the owners of Paddageng which made the breakfast one to be remembered. We sat and chatted for a while rather enjoying the company and heat from the fires. Unfortunately all good things come to and end and we set off in smaller groups back to Cape Town via different routes. Paddagang will remain one of the preferred breakfast venues, so look out for it in the future, this ride is not to be missed.

Was very good, thanks ALL! Jane and I went back via Worcester, then Rawsonville, tried to visit Chris and Suzette, they were out, so then Du Toit's Kloof, Franschhoek Pass, then Hells Hoogde, Stellenbosch, Kirstenbosch where Jane's bike's rear wheel bearing started dying. So limped the last bit to Cheesy....where we were going to visit. After a great "kuier" Jane left her bike with Rene and Jean and pillioned home. Her thumb is 'most' sore...:-( Things a bit better with the thumb this Monday morning. Franschhoek Pass had some rain damage...I'll try and add a few pics later.

Eish, unfortunately had to miss this one. We did a quick trip to Alan Lewis Motorcycles in, Port Elizabeth, to collect a 650GS for my Father-by-law. I was looking forward to meeting some of the crowd. We will certainly join you next time. Dopkontak

Outside Worcester on the road to Nekkies where the sobrietry challenged gent took out Jane, the traffic police had a trap. Good thing, but their method is risky for bikers... they have their lazer on a nice tri-pod .....it looks like they spot you and zap you from a great distance then pull you over....tsk, tsk, technology often spoils the fun!
