Hi All,
As previously said, please forgive my spelling and tenses. I grew up in the Kalahari where we started crying and went into hiding when the Engelse came to visit us. Charles, please help us Afrikaanse ouens with an English spell and grammar check on this forum. I want to run away when I must write something on the forum.
Ag wat, let me try.
We had a nice all tar trip over the past weekend. 22-24/02/2013.
If someone said to me, sum up this weekend in twenty words or less, I would say:
Brilliant company, awesome weather, stunning scenery, fantastic routes, warm hospitality, excellent venue, delicious food, plenty water, many crashes, home safe.
This is by no means the official trip report, if you want to still write a proper trip report, be my guest. But if you have pictures and don’t feel like writing a report, please just add them to this post.
“We have received a few emails that go along the line of “but what about us ”.
So due to this extreme pressure , we are planning an overnight, off road ride to a new (for us) venue called Op die Plaas, nestled between the Klein Swartberg and Elandsberg Mountains
the first leg of our 20 day road trip: Cape Town to Marken
The short way up: Botswana 5369
20 day road trip adventure
Trip manifesto
We have to have fun up to the last minute – our holiday is not over until we ride into the garage
We will explore new roads and new town, meet new people and see new things along the way
After weeks of scouring the web for suitable routes and countless hours spent tweaking the selected route on Mapsource - I wanted to find a route that avoided the N1, N2 and R62 yet was suitable for a "solo" ride - Adrienne and I finally set off on Friday morning enroute to Wilderness.
