It’s almost flower time, and so far it looks very promising. There are strong pockets of flowers everywhere already and with decent rain recently fallen and bits more surely to come, it certainly looks like a bumper year is expected.
I have discovered that club trips and their success are not only measured by the intense organization that takes place behind the scenes – but is largely dependent on the people that come together and experience the trip as a team.
We are planning an overnight ride to the Boegoeberg campsites and houses in the “Engelsman se Berge” near Clanwilliam for the weekend of 23 - 24 February 2013. Warren and Natalie Ellwood will be your hosts for this weekend trip to what has been voted one of the top 10 campsites in South Africa and we will include a visit to the historical Heerenlogement Caves where some very famous people like Simon Van Der Stel and Andrew Geddes Bain stayed over and left their mark.

This past weekend was a mixture of tranquility, dirt, dust, mud and adventure in the Engelsman se Berge.
Saturday morning began with a torent of rain and an exchange of nervous glances between the riders. Warren declared a vendetta towards all weather stations and weather sites and we all tugged on our rain suits and warm goodies.
Luckily, the rain cleared pretty soon, leaving the riders with a lot of mud and slippery surfaces to face - enjoyed by most of the riders!
