hier is so paar fotos vab die naweek
DANKIE AAN GEOFF EN AL MY MAATJIES
NO pictures were taken whilst riding, I was just to scared. I also used the Leat constrictor for the first time and was not that comfortable. (Had to make a few adjustments. That caused me to fall 6 times on the first strech of sand. Hopefully du Toit got one of the spectacular 'disembarkings' on film. I made adjustment at the first stop and then had a wonderfull ride without any incident.

Dankie Adie, ek hoop daar is nog baie foties wat gepost word.
What a great weekend with a great bunch of "property barons". It is official, there are no more plots left for sale between the Brak river and the salt pans. However there are a few new property owners that may be willing to dispose of some of their plots at vastly reduced prices.
The main purchasers were .........................sorry there are to many to mention!!!!!!!!
Generally speaking the majority of riders mastered the sand fairy but it also took some longer than others to achieve this.
Great company, great food, great riding.....what more can we ask for from a Club ride??
And Jurg was very subdued so our livers were not that badly punished....
Wish I'd been there. Definitely next year.
Fresh air toilet - NOT. That thing stinkum!
I’d like to send a huge round of applause for Geoff and team for the most excellent arrangements; and a special mention to Jurg and his manne for letting us crash at his Kaya and for the excellent dinners.
A big thank you to Abie who patiently followed Mr Slow through many miles of soft stuff, followed closely by John and Megan in the back-up vehicle. I can only imagine the radio calls from Geoff “Is it that b---d Kevin holding us up again?”
My thanks also to everyone on the trip for the great company with everybody working to make this a memorable event.
This was a tough weekend for me – I really struggled with getting and staying up to speed on the sand. Lots of slow chuntering and paddling was physically exhausting for someone the shape I am. Still – I learned a lot; had some spills; some bruises; some moments of pure exhilaration – often followed by moments of huge fright. Plenty of turtle heads snapped.
I can’t say I enjoyed it all – there were moments where I was wondering how I’d managed to sign up for the foreign legion ... but it was all worth it in the end. Relaxing at the Kaya each day felt like a huge sense of accomplishment.
What a wonderful trip! I would like to thank Geoff for making a plan at the last minute for me to go along. Everything was superbly organised and went off without a glitch. Jurg and his team really blew me away with the food. I couldn’t believe what they pulled off with the facilities they have. The seafood soup and the seafood Paella really took the cake – it was AMAZING!!
I have posted some pics below of some of the moments I tried to capture.
Well done to everyone who attampted the trip - I take my hat off to you.
Megan & co. Hope you don't mind me posting a few of these on my Facebook album? My hands were too busy this weekend holding handle bars to think about a camera. I only took a few during rest breaks.
Nice work Megan. It was great to meet you and Henk - the riding is just an excuse to get to know people better...
Hey Eric
I dont mind you posting any of them.
I have some others I can email to you if you like.
"Be warned!" all you nouveau property barons. Your prime plots are currently the subject of a land claim, following some massive land grabs during the BMWMCCC's visit to the area last February.
Thank you all for sharing! It was so obvioulsy a seriously fun tour (is there ever any kind in our great club?) It brings back some fond memories of the place and the people I have experienced it with. Viva Hoofseun! Viva Jurg! Viva the Kaya!
