Tanya is putting a program
Tanya is putting a program together were we would meet at the Shell garage just before Sir Lowrys Pass. The on-road group would leave there at 7:50. Caledon, Napier and then Bredasdorp for a quick stop. Then on to Elim. This ride would be at 120 to 125 km/h as we have a longer ride than the off-roaders. The off-road group would leave at 8:00. Hermanus, Gansbaai, some dirt to Elim. At Elim we will spend a litlle time fitting some of the mosquito nets - the sponsors wants some photos of this. We would then go to the mill at Elim for lunch - bobotie and some other "lekker" food. At this stage it seems R 50 per person for the lunch - including a tip. We would be able to see the old mill and a museum while we wait for the food. Tanya has asked as many bikes as possible to join the ride - please send her an email to confirm that you are coming. The restaurant needs some indication of how much food to prepare. We will also need some extra bakkies to cart all the goodies to Elim - again please contact Tanya if you can help. Tanya's email details are in the firts post. We are looking forward to see MANY on this ride. It promises to be an unforgettable event. :)

To Tanya and Johan You guys ROCK! This world needs more people like you with compassion for children the world seems to have forgotten about. Unfortunately Mike and I already have plans for that weekend but would have loved to have joined you guys. To all those who have contributed and helped in some way well done. May God keep you in his hands and may you have a safe trip.

Hi Frank, lets answer your questions one at a time. 1) ANYBODY may join this ride, It is not required that you must give a gift. However, feel free to contact Tanya (her email details are in the first post) if you do want to make a contribution. 2) I do believe we will be starting from Shell just before Sir Louwrys pass, from there we (on road) will go towards Hermanus. You are most welcome to join us enroute (possibly at Botrivier/N2) - the times will be posted later.

Hi Charles I joined the
Hi Charles I joined the guys on the breakfast ride to Napier and would love to join for this ride also. However, I depart from Kleinmond and was wondering if I could join up along the way somwhere.Perhaps at the Villiersdorp turn-off or in Caledon? If this should be possible, where/what would be a good time. I would be joining the road bike group. Unfortunately, I have a family commtiment that prevents me from joining the ride on the 18th... I did not contribute to these gifts that will be distributed in Elim and was wondering if there was some way to make a contribution now, if it is not too late? Otherwise I would feel like a bit of a skirminkel to join the ride! :-) Kind regards Frank

It's getting better by the day. I asked for a donation of Easter Eggs. To my surprise, I picked up 620 Easter Eggs last night. I managed to get a donation of 120 hamburgers for the Elim children for lunch on the 24th. Chris (aka Padlangs, my lounge is already looking worse than what it did with the Christmas party for Elim. Looking forward to seeing more replies of people who will join us on the trip. Yours in the heart of needy communities, Tanya 082 332 4635

Thank you to Tanya, JR &
Thank you to Tanya, JR & Chris (aka Padlangs) for their efforts....I am soon going to start crying, everytime there is a ride out there I have something happening and can not go - this time around I have entered the Advanced Course at Klipbokkop and can't go..... I would have loved to be there. Luckily Tracey and I have been able to help with some sponsorships in the past. To Tanya and her team, thank you for all your hours and efforts towards such a great cause, you are real leaders and amazing people. Johan de Jager "It's all about the ride, nothing else"

Tanya will be posting more
Tanya will be posting more info shortly, ie starting point and time etc. Once again Tanya is working hard at something "extra" to make this a stunning ride. Those doing the tar ride will be going through Caledon and Napier towards Bredasdorp. After Bredasdorp we will turn towards Cape Augulhas for a short stint and then take the tar turn-off towards Elim. These are some of the BEST roads !! :) :) Just a little TIP (for the men) - take sunglasses with. For ALL the RT, GT, LT riders that often comment on the lack of "day-rides" - THIS is what you have been waiting for !
