2010, Another year, another great weekend outing with YOUR Club : Come and join the fun, 3 rides to choose from, bring your partner with you!!!! Numbers are limited...........snooze you............you know what.. So many rides so little time............ In order to get 2010 off to a great start, Andy, Anne, Brian and I are arranging a "Dual" ride to Prince Albert over the weekend of 20th to 21st February 2010 sleeping in Oudtshoorn. The plan was to stay in Prince Albert however good value accommodation for a large group is not easy to find in this quaint little town. Brian's Messengers group will obviously be a "road" ride, Anne & Andy Connell have offered to take the "off road" beginners group and I will take the more experienced "dirties" group. Group 1) (Tar ride) Brian is feverishly going over his maps to ensure the "Roadies" have a lovely ride up to Prince Albert/Oudtshoorn however until he finalises his route it will remain a mystery. Sounds like lots of fun and a great ride!! Group 2) The "Dirties" beginners group led by Andy & Anne Connell will have an interesting ride but the route will be "beginner" friendly with some stretch added so that your abilities are tested a bit. You will be spoilt by the beautiful Seweweeks Poort route on your way home via Laingsburg and Ceres. Group 3) My group will be tested on the way up riding lots of roads and tracks that many of you will have not ridden before. It will include traversing some private Nature area's and there will be some sandy patches just to keep you on your toes (note : not two track sand). Our return ride will take us back towards the Cango Caves then to Calitzdorp, Vanwyksdorp then depending on time there may be a surprise Mountain Pass on the stretch home. The "dirties" will all traverse the "Swartberg Pass" on Saturday afternoon and some lovely routes back towards Cape Town on Sunday. Pillions are encouraged to join the ride. Be mindful however (but not put off) of your riding abilities with a pillion "off road" should you be joining the "dirties"! Accommodation : We have accommodation for us all at Kleinplasie on a DB&B basis for the Saturday night. We will again have the options of "double" rooms or 4 singles in a room. Rates are as follows : Luxury open plan chalets - sharing 2 people per chalet @ R293.00 per person B&B. This will suite couples. 2 Bedroom chalets - sharing 4 people per chalet @ R231.50 per person B&B. This will suite singles. Dinner on Saturday night : Kleinplaas will do a braai for the entire group. Cost will be R100.00 per person. Bar : There will be a cash bar available at the Braai. Back up vehicle : This will follow the bikes towing the 3 bike Club trailer. Contribution will be R100.00 per bike. Interested?
