The Ladies are in for a treat next month …  After months of negotiation, BMW Motorcycle Club Cape has managed to secure a LADIES ONLY Track Session at Killarney.

Date  :  Sunday, 9 October 2011
Cost  :  R400.00 per participant (incl. 4-hrs track time, instructors, 1st Aid & Ambulance as well as Track Marshalls)
Time :  08h00 – 12h30

There seems to be a lot of myths and misconceptions surrounding “Track Days” … So let’s try clear them up for you.

It’s NOT about hurtling down the racetrack at breakneck speeds trying to become the next Valentino Rossi, but rather a training session, in a controlled safe environment and road surface where riders can practice their lines, cornering, braking & reaction time without having to deal with on-coming traffic, speed limits, road signs and pedestrians.

The training session caters to all,  from beginners, through to intermediate and advanced riders. Depending on these levels of expertise, riders will be split into groups accordingly and put through their paces under the watchful eye of qualified instructors. All makes of motorcycles are welcome and the more participants and bikes out on the track, the better.

The day will begin with registration, bike scrutinizing, taping mirrors and a lecture on safety, track rules as well as the format of the mornings’ proceedings. Riders will then move out onto the track for the practical session. The first 2 laps will be about orientation, so you can get a feel of the geography of the track and where the pit lane starts and ends. The next session will probably deal with counter steering, thereafter hints on bettering your cornering and improving your lines, bike posture and where to look etc .. It’s all about safety first and instructors will brief you after sessions and give you hints and tips to improve your skill levels and confidence.

We encourage all our Lady Riders to participate. If you are interested or unsure, please contact Anne Connell on 082 421 0003 or email anne@abarc.co.za.
