Come and join your fellow Club Members, guests and visitors for a fantastic overnight stay at the unforgettable “Cederberg Oasis” that is situated in the Cederberg Mountains about 110kms from Ceres. Your Partners are welcome to come up by vehicle (preferably a bakkie) and join in the fun.

A five minute unscheduled stop was enjoyed by the group over looking the falls

The Oasis has been a haven for bikers and back packers for many years and the Club has spent many a memorable evening there in the past.

The Club has not visited Gerrit for an overnight stay for some years now so it’s time to go and experience some of the best hospitality around in the great company of Gerrit and his team.

Over the years the Oasis has changed considerably and now offers the following accommodation and meal options :

  • Internal rooms : R200.00 PP
  • Tents with 2 beds & bedding : R185.00 PP
  • Camping in your own tent (roof top tent etc) : R80.00 PP

For the above you will need to pay the Oasis Directly when you book.

  • Breakfast : R60.00
  • Lunch : R30-R60.00
  • Dinner : R95-R185.00

The above meals will be added to your “bar” bill.

Here you will be served some of the best Ribs or steak that you have ever tasted. I am drooling just thinking about it.

The Oasis offers an “Honesty” Bar system where you are trusted to write all your drinks down in the file supplied to you. In the morning you hand your file in and pay what you owe.

We will have two groups going up to the Oasis.

  1. One with the beginner/less experienced riders.
  2. Please note that the second group will not be much more difficult but the route ridden will be a bit further to get there. All will be on well used dirt roads.

Please note that accommodation is limited so you will need to book quickly to ensure you get a booking.

Dates :

  • Depart Cape Town Saturday 6th October (Departure details to be confirmed nearer the time)
  • Return Sunday 7th October (In one group or on your own)
  • For your peace of mind the ride will be accompanied by a 4x4 Towing the Club Trailer.
  • Accommodation bookings should be done directly with the Cederberg Oasis : 0274822819 : Please mention that you are with the BMW Club Cape Group.

To confirm your booking :

  1. Please book firstly with the Cedarberg Oasis and confirm your booking and pay them. Tel: +27 27 482 2819
  2. Only then pay R100.00 PP into the Club Account to cover the vehicle, driver and trailer expenses and confirm your choice of group 1 or group 2 to me via e mail at geoff@eubiketours.co.za (0828078130).

Bank account details:

  • First National Bank
  • Branch: Long Street
  • Branch code: 201709 (Standard Bank users must add 2 zeros at the end)
  • A/c no: 50060098602
  • A/c name: BMW Motorcycle Club Cape

I look forward to your bookings.

Its going to be a good one!

A trip to the Sederberg and Oasis is guaranteed to be relaxed and pleasant, no matter how many times you ride there.

Would the route include a detour via Tankwa padstal and the Peerboom pass and Katbakkies pass?

And the route back via Kromrivier and Uitkyk pass? And Elandskloof Pass and Middelberg pass?

I have done the Sutherland trip with the beginner offroad group and it was very frustrating to wait for the guys the whole time. I am riding with a pillion and havent done sand or rocky terrain yet.

should I rather go to group 1 or should I try group 2 with my pillion?

Hoodlum 78, If I can say something from a girls point a view!  If you never done sand or rocky terrain before go with group 1 specially with a pillion.

Ek sal nie gemaklik agterop wees as my bestuurder nie ondervinding het nie, ek se jou by die eerste sand of klippe deel klim ek af.

Hello Charles/Geoff

Still place for a latecomer?  Have recently been on the bike again after a way-too-long absence (3500 km), and it went fairly well.

I have spoken to Jacques at Cederberg a few minutes ago - he still has space for me (in a tent).

If fine with you guys, I will pay the R100.

Groep 2 asb?

Thx en groete

God gave you a gift of 86 400 seconds to-day.  Have you used one to say Thank You?
