BMW MCC off road ride (Unscheduled)
Sunday 31st October
Feel like a nice easy dirt road ride this Sunday?
If so then join me on an easy ride starting from the normal Club breakfast run departure point at the Engen Garage in Plattekloof. The ride will take us through the back of Durbanville to Wellington then past Riebeek Kasteel to Gouda and on to Piketberg. Here we will stop at the Spur for lunch.
The route home will be via Moreesburg to Ribeek Wes then towards Malmsbury and home.
The route is all on existing well used dirt roads and it should be a nice easy ride. Time depending we will stop regularly to chill and chat.
Pillions and non members welcome.

Demet, my shoulder will be out of action for some time to come and my trusty steed still in Dr Hoskin's hospital.
Kick up some dust for me.
Pity.
Will do Stan.
Remember that your Camel pack is at my house.
15 riders so far.
Thanks to all 22 of you that joined me on this very relaxed ride to Piketberg. I hope you all enjoyed the easy pace.
Sorry about the slow service at the Spur.
I am also very happy that there were no "side stand" incidents.
Watch out for the next one.
If pre aranged, we could have offered you slow service at half price
We managed to get away into the Cederbergs with our bikes also on Sunday. Feels strange to ride again, and all thanks to new staff in whose hands we leave the business
Guys, if you are interested in my "tongue-in-the-cheek" report on the trip, you can read it on my blog at http://justasurferdude.blogspot.com/2010/11/groups-rush-in-where-angels-fear-to.html

And thanks Geoff, it was a memorable experience for me.
This was my third gravel road ride with the club and was very different to the first two but just as enjoyable.
The road surface changed frequently and suddenly, which was a challange, the average speed was higher and a donga was thrown in for good luck.
The slow service at the Spur wasn't a problem as it gave me the opportunity to get to know some of the other riders - and the hamburger was delicious.
Hats off to Geoff and thanks to Hein. I can't wait for the next ride.
The club is really privileged to have members like GeoffR, Andyman and all the helpers who give up their time to help novices like me to gain in confidence and experience. I have grown a lot since I started riding with the club. I can't wait for the next ride.
All that remains is for me to join the club - it is just through slapgatness (isn't that a nice word) that I haven't done so yet.
