Anybody that can help me with the following please? How much time should be allowed for the following round trip in the Cederberg. Starting at Sandrivier, taking the jeeptrack to Wupperthal. Entering Wupperthal from the south, exiting in a northerly direction, turning to the west and then coming south again on the N3, entering the Cederberg near Algiers again and back to Sandrivier? We are a few friends planning such a trip. The focus would be on slow riding, enjoying the scenery and stoppng regularly for photo's, etc. We need to know what time we need to "negotiate" with the rest of the family which will be camping! regards JAco

Hi Jaco, Cant find Sandrivier on my map but can see Sanddrif. The other Rivier is Dwarsrivier. Let us say it is Sanddrif.. To Wuprthal is about 40kms, this will take about 2 hours as you must stop at the "pools" just beyond eselbank. As you leave the village you cross a cement bridge, just after this the road turns very sharply left, on this corner is a turn off to the right. Take it and the pools are about 300m along this road. Wuperthal via Kouberg pas, Biedouw Valley, Hoek se Berg Pass, Engelsman se graf (Turn left), Oupoort, Pakhuis pass to Clanwilliam is about 80kms and will take an hour. Clanwilliam to Sanddrif via Algeria and Uitkyk pass is about 65kms and will take another hour or so. So to be very rustig I would do the trip in a day. I have very detailed maps if you want to pop by my house and look at them. Geoff.

Daar is nie selfoonsein nie. En, wanneer julle by Eselsbank na die waterval afdraai, le^ daar 'n keuse van drie paaie voor jou! Vat die heel regterkantste pad. ":)"

Hey Danie - what about copying the old trip report into the new trip reports section? It is certainly one of the gems I would like to scavenge onto the bright side... ;-) Website Administrator
