Breakfast ride to Darling - 24 June 2012

Sunday came and with it some early morning rain. Dragging myself out of bed wasn't easy, but i managed to don my riding gear and got going.

Arriving at the meeting point I was greeted by two already waiting riders. So much for it being rained out and me returning to my warm bed! ;-)
Within 15min we had to 9 keen bikers in there rain gear ready to go.

As said, we took a easy ride through the back roads via Malmesberry to Darling. Weather wise, we had it all almost, mist, rain and wind, just missing snow or hail, actually not missing it really!

Arriving in Darling at Brigsbarn (for the 2nd time....1st time was for a dual ride...with a little bit of sand...) for breakfast, the calls for hot coffee or hot chocolate (Hot milk + 2 flakes) where unanimous.

Now for those of you who have never been to Brigsbarn, it a stop you need make sometime. It's not big at all, rather small and a few tables outside too. However, value for money is always very good and the food yummy!

With breakfast securely deposited and our homes calling, we braved the cold weather once again, which seamed significantly colder stepping out of Brigs. Heading back home as actually nice, no rain!

Thanks to all of those who attended and a special thanks to Niel, hope to see you in 2months when your back again!

Ride safe folks

Ciao

Yip, awesome spot, just a pity it isn't on the other side of a few mountain passes. The dirties could put together a nice ride to get there though.

It's funny, I prepared myself for riding in the promised torrential rain, so was maybe a bit dissapointed it didn't rain more.

Riding in rain is fine, riding in mist is not so fine. But I didn't get wet where I shouldn't.

Anyway, it was in the end a really lekker ride and morning, so thanks John.
