The BMWMCCC offers our riders the chance to experiment with different settings and find a balance that fits the rider.
Setting up your bike - tweaking it to suite you and your riding style may well be a secret to riding enjoyment you have missed out on so far.
Do your wrists feel tired or strained after riding a while?
Does riding make your back hurt or your feet uncomfortable.?
Do you have to reach for a lever and lose concentration?
Is standing up on the pegs uncomfortable?
Well there is much you can do to relieve this.
Ergonomics is the study of the human body and revolves around body postures and the finding the best posture for the body for any given operation or task.
If your body is not comfortable then you tire out quicker.
Applied to bikes, many riders have withdrawn from regular riding because the bike makes them strained or tired.
Possibly 90% of the problem is poor ergonomics.
The bike is assembled in a factory to a 'standard setting'.
We all differ in build and stature.
So the standard may well be not the right one for you.
By changing the position of controls, you can make the bike "fit" you.
Once the bike fits you it becomes much easier to control and ride.
Long rides become a pleasure not a strain.
These items below are quick and easy to adjust without compromising on design safety:-
