2) 2 day TAR ride.

3) 2 day Off road beginners ride.

4) 2 day Off road "other" ride.

All particapants must make there own bookings.

Accommodation : There are many accommodation options in Sutherland.

Ag nee jislaaik man!  We will be on the farm that week-end (we have to book and pay a very long time in advance) so will need to miss S'land, but if group 3 and/or 4 will be coming back via Skittery and Katbakkies , we would love to receive you on the farm (and maybe even show you a few Bushman paintings?)  We're on top of the mountain.

God gave you a gift of 86 400 seconds to-day.  Have you used one to say Thank You?

Hi

Would like to join group 3, but if a bit full, happy to do it by tar. Still need to confirm.

Any possibility we could meet up along the way or do you need us to start in CT?

Hi Jinx,

Group 3 is fine.

Please confirm if you are both coming and then I will need names.

Make your Sutherland accommodation bookings ASAP.

Preferably meet in Cape Town but if you can't make this you can discuss your options with the ride leader nearer the time.

Please confirm ASAP.

Will get back ASAP. Hubby might be leaving for USA for few months and is getting details this weekend. If he is gone by then, I won't be able to leave the (breeding) Emu's alone...

Hope I can make it!!

Group 3 is now full.

Space still available in group 2 on the very nice Tar ride that Brian has arranged.

Group 4 still has space as well. Their ride is not a difficult one but will not be as easy as the beginners group.

Hahaha - thats like saying it's harder than walking up table mountain but easier than doing Everest.

There are so many problems in this world. Luckily there's a wristband available for almost all of them.

If space permits I'd like to join Group 4.

I hope there's not too much sand en route.

On our recent visit there we met Rudy who owns a guest house called "The Cottage".

Also a biker (one of those Superbike things) and actually runs the Sutherland "branch" of Craig's Motorcycles which may be handy if one ever needs things like tubes etc there.

Rudy... used to be known as "Radical Rudy" but has calmed down some, so now goes by the name of "Rustige Rudy" Laughing

I stayed at The Cottage last year, and can confirm that there are electric blankets and there are wall sockets into which one can plug them in (unlike some other places which apparently lacked the sockets... bit of a lottery draw)... The Cottage is also in walking distance from Jupiter where we're having dinner, so very convenient...

Hi Dennis. My wife and I have had to unfortunately pull out of this trip. We were booked in at Kambro Kind B + B SUTHERLAND and listed to ride with group 3 lead by Andy Connell. The deposit has already been paid to Kambrokind. So if you would like to take our accommodation in a very nice B&B you could pay me the deposit and settle with the B&B on your arrival. The deposit paid was R300 leaving another R300 still to pay.

Regards

Tristan

Are we still going if it's covered in snow?  Right now, there is snow, look at the picture.  The idea of riding a bike on a snowy road doesn't seems very safe to me.

Cold is not the problem, I'm more concerned about having to ride in 10cm of snow on the top of an icy road.  The kind of conditions that would require a car with summer tires to wear chains.  I've got plenty of experience driving cars in these conditions, but I never thought I would do that on a bike!  But if you're saying it's the whole point of the trip and we can ride safely, I'm all in!

P.S. I hope that by "deep snow" you don't mean the same as I do.  For example, this is *not* deep snow for me and I wouldn't want to ride a bike in these conditions!  I just need to calibrate my expectations with SA's reality, as it's gonna be my first winter here.

Hi Geoff,

If there's still space in group 4 i would like to join.Sians not keen on this one, its to cold for her she says.

Once again thanks for looking after her on the Gifberg trip ,she had a great time on the back of your bike.

She tells me my bike is not half as comfortable.

Its great to be with like minded people who enjoy the outdoors so much.

Hi, I'm a bit late to book my accomodation, I found a place that would be suitable for 2-4 ppl, that is 2 single beds + 1 double.  I would be happy to rent this with 1 or 2 more ppl, let me know if you are interested, the unit cost R600 total and it's self catering.  I would also be happy to just join other ppl at another accomodation, let me know if you are looking for 1 more to share a place.

Hey Bruno.

I'll take one of those beds.

I forgot all about the accommodation.

Self-catering seems better than camping.

I've unfortunately had to pull out of this trip... If anyone is still looking for accommodation, I've paid a deposit for a twin room at the Galaxy/Prokureurs Huis for R200. Outstanding is another R200, so it works out at R200 pp incl breakfast if you're sharing.

Please PM me if you're interested.

Thanks,

Jeanne

Will we have time to do breakfast on Sunday morning plus maybe visiting the big telescope or is it going to be tight.
