1200 GS Front Shock

I had the front shock on my bike done a week ago because it was leaking oil.Got it back a week later and fitted it and a new problem occured (kind of new,there was a slight noise before I got the shock back,it's just a lot louder now).Every time I go throug the slightest hole in the road or from my lawn onto the road,the bike makes a clacking noise at the front.I spoke to Martin who did the shock and he assured me that it couldn't be the shock.Fitted a new ball joint today and it's still doing the same thing.Now I've ordered the damper bushes so that's gonna be the next thing I'm gonna try.Any suggestions?

Francois, It could be your discs have worn the mounting bushes. Grab your disc and see if it can shake or rattle. The discs float on five bushes which have spring washers to absorb the 'rattle'. The bushes are a tight fit and after many kilos tend to wear a face onto the bush which allows it to rattle. Let me know if this is the case. I have an engineering shop making up new ones for me right now. Andyman Yup that's me. Standing up in the traffic on the 1150GSA.

Thanks Andy.I bought a stetoscope just now to figure out where the sound is comming from and it's the flippen shock that I had repaired that makes the noise!I spoke to Martin and he's gonna send me another shock.

Jis Alf,nee,dit was toe net die shock gewees.Ek het dit terug gestuur en lyk my al die gas het uitgelek!Martin het dit weer reggemaak en die bike loop soos 'n droom!Het my net 4 keer se vervoer gekos maar nouja,dis mos maar hoe dit gaan.Dankie vir al die raad oor die foon Alf,ek waardeer dit regtig.
