I have kept the screwdriver for mounting my Zumo 400 religiously on my key chain and of course sods law it has fallen off recently and is missing!

I wasn't too stressed as I thought i could make a plan using something else (fork/scissors/whatever) but have found that it isn't that easy.

I still wasn't too stressed as the unit is mounted on the bike and i thought that i could still just plug in and download the route for the weekend, until it twigged that to get at the port i have to remove the unit!

Any suggestions as to what i can use as an alternative screwdriver rather than buying another one. I though maybe to grind a groove in a small normal screwdriver but that also doesn't sound like too easy a job either!

Help!

maybe visit NAVWORLD, in Maitland Business/Office park, they may be able to help you...?

Thanks Chris your guys pointed me in that direction this morning when i dropped by - only problem is they only open at 9am which was too late for me. Will give them a ring.

Just to close this out. Navworld weren't all that helpful and there was no way i could get the unit off the bike so ended up riding without the routes loaded. Wasn't too bad as knew most of the routes through Sutherland, Tankwa and the Cedarberg and reverted to old fashioned paper maps when there was any uncertainty. Made for a nice change actually.

On returning I found garminonline.co.za and ordered a new screwdriver. I was a bit sceptical as the list price (with free delivery!) was only R49 but it was delivered to my home within 2 days no problem so thumbs up to them!

Hi Peter

If I remember correctly from the days I had a 550, I had to drill a hole in the other side of the screwdriver housing, and put the key ring through that side. Thus preventing the important bit to get lost if the cap unscrews.

Hope it helps

Thanks Arno - i think that rather than have it on my key ring i am going to keep it in my tank bag with the other only-to-be-used-for-trips equipment!
