Myself and a good friend, Wayne Sheppard approached Shane from Atlantic the other day and discussed with him the possibility of setting up a full day that we can spend with him in the workshop at Atlantic, creating time for him to show us the "tricks" involved on the everyday little problems 1 might experience when on the road.
Shane being such a TRUE GENTLEMAN as he is, immediattely agreed to this, of course with some concernes in terms of the level that we want to go into (technical) as well as what we will be going through.
The idea is to have a R1200 GS and GSA available that we will work on and use as "demo", I have got an indication of topics that some guys put across to me in our 1 on 1 discussions. If there is 650 riders out there that would like to also have acess to such a day - let me also have your names, I can always talk to the people involved and maybe even include a 650....otherwise we will look at organising such a day for you guys.
I need to get an indication of who would be interrested in such a day as well as some topics that you would like to see discussed and performed, at this stage there is mixed feelings about adding a small price per person to attend (this money would be used from lunch etc.) as well as the hours of such a day.
PLEASE NOTE - to the guys that "can"...
Guys like Andyman (Who is very capable on this field) please also join in on the day and make some suggestions of things you think is important to know about and tell us of some of your experiences and tricks, we can then also go through those...
I am sure there is some guys out there just like me, that feel that when it comes to the mechanical side of these bikes, I still have A LOT to learn and something like this will really help...something like building up a proper toolkit comes to mind.
The involvement from Atlantic has not been discussed past this introduction, I am busy with this and will revert on a later stage, for now I need some indication of numbers.
Please let me know via e-mail in order to set up a list of names and to put some topics for discussion together? My mail adress is
