Hello everybody

We would like to go to the Arch and sleepover.  Day trips don't work as I arrive too late from Somerset West and there isn't enough time to explore.

Please recommend accommodation that is cheap and cheerful, either camping or basic accommodation for a couple, accommodation that has facilities to serve light meals.  We are intending to use the bike so packing cooking utensils and food is not our first choice.

Your assistance would be highly appreciated

Sanddrif seems to be the best I could Google

Sanddrif is the nearest accommodation to the arch. It is my favourite campsite in the entire Cederberg area if you catch it out of season (it can get busy). It is a 3-3.5 hour hike one-way from there to the arch via the Wolfberg cracks. The cracks are more spectacular in my opinion and a bit closer (roughly 1-2 hour hike one-way if I remember correctly). I think you need a permit for hiking to either of them.

I'd also highly recommend checking out the Maalgat, a very deep pool 30 min hike from the campsite (no permit required if staying at Sanddrif) with some kloofing opportunities - you can jump from cliffs into the water; from 2m to 11m in height.

Other nice campsites in the area, but a bit further away from the arch is Algeria and Driehoek.

Thanks for that, sounds like a two day weekend.  I was planning to stay over Saturday & do the Arch/Cracks on Sunday :)
