This winters Flu

I just want to warn everybody about the flu bug going around, or at least the one I have just had. I know Niel was also down for some time and this year it seems worse.
I had heard a few times on the radio about how bad it was going to be this year but as usual didn't take too much notice. I get sick very very seldom.
Anyway, since last Thursday I have been batteling with flu and finally Tuesday decided to go home and go to the doctor. This after being a model pasient all weekend, hell I even slept through some of the MotoGP on Saturday.
What I really want to say is the usual over the counter stuff, Vics mednite, Benlyn, Corensa C (I wish I owned that company) etc. did not seem to have any effect what so ever. Not even a slight inprovement.
After doctor, some bullet sized antibiotics, one days rest and almost as good as new.
So, if you start feeling flu'y, don't waste your money on the chemist, get to a doc and ask for some bullets. Might save you some days.

Coughing remedy - use it, don't use it.
The foot soles can absorb oils. To stop night time coughing in a child or adult, put Vicks Vaporub generously
on the bottom of the feet at bedtime, then cover with socks.
Even persistent, heavy, deep coughs will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than
even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly.

And another cough remedy,"ou boere raad"
3 X Lennons Bors Drupples (small bottles)and half a jar of honey, mix well. For adults: 1 table spoon full, rotate the contents in your mouth for a few seconds and swallow, end of problem, It certainly works for me.

Another cough preventing cure: take 2x tablespoonfuls of castor oil, slightly warmed. Thereafter you are too afraid to cough.
