I have had a couple pull out of the BMW Club GS Tour of the Transkei Wild Coast. Anybody interested please let me know urgently or contact Kevin Layden at kevin@sirhelderberg.co.za Cost is R6k per person. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I have had requests from some of you for the final plans for our trip so here goes. Firstly for the Capies we will have a pre trip get together at my house about 2 weeks prior to departure. Here we discuss the trip in more detail and obviously get to know each other. The info from this evening will be e mailed to those who do not attend. I ask the locals to try the best and attend. Thursday 31st July : We meet at the Engen 1 stop on the N1 before Somerset west at 0645 for breakfast (own expense) we depart for Keurboomstrand at 0730. We sleep at the Road Lodge in PE. We eat at a local restaurant (own expense) breakfast next morning at the Wimpey is included in the trip. Friday 1st August: We Depart for the Wild Coast via East London on our way to Trennarys Hotel where we are booked in DB&B. Saturday 2nd August: We depart on a circular ride to the wreck of the Jacaranda and return to Trennarys in the afternoon. Sunday 3rd August: We depart trennarys on our way to the Mazeppa bay hotel. Depending on our arrival time we may do a short outride. Here we are booked DB&B. Monday 4th August: Depart Mazeppa Bay for Kob Inn. Visit Shixini point then Book in DB&B. Tuesday 5th August: Rest day..........That is what it is called, some of us will go and explore a bit..........Stay over at Kob Inn again. Wednesday 6th August : We head for the Ocean View Hotel in Coffee Bay. Book in DB&B. Thursday 7th August: Ride around the Coffee Bay, Hole in the Wall area and stay at Ocean view again. DB&B. Friday 8th August: A very short ride to the Anchorage Hotel exploring the area on the way. Book in DB&B. Saturday 9th August: A long ride today. All the way to Port st Johns via some lovely scenery. Here we stay at the Outspan Inn on a DB&B basis. Sunday 10th August : We depart PSJ on our way back to Keurboomstrand where we stay at the beautiful Singing Kettle on a B&B basis (dinner for your own account) Monday 11th August: we depart for Cape Town arriving mid afternoon. All lunches, snacks, drinks & fuel are for your account. I suggest that you bring along with you a heap of snack bars to nibble on at lunch time. The back up vehicle carries a big cooler box with beers, coolers, cold drinks, Red Bull etc. It is up to you to ensure that it has your favorite drink in it. Abie our very capable back up driver ensures that the ice box is kept full of ice. We will refuel in East London, Trennarys, Kob Inn, Coffee Bay, Port st Johns in the Transkei.
