I witnessed a similar happening, Barry Crawford, a past chairman with his wife Jill on the back went through the Outiniqua Pass scraping the panniers on his 1150 G S. He taught me a thing or 2 about the G S.
Geoff Russell does that with a pillion and full knobblies...
