Hi All

Sorry I haven't posted in forever - have been in Australia for four years. Anyway, to the point at hand, I've just got a one moth contract in Durban, leaving Wednesday morning, to start there on Monday at Durban harbour. I've hired a bakkie to cart my possessions on the front seat and my bike on the load bed.

I've never done this before and would dearly love the beast to arrive in Durbs without mishap. Does anyone have a wheel chock I could borrow for a month - I'm led to to believe this to be necessary. I have to return the bakkie to Greenpoint at end September, so its a guaranteed return. If you requre it, I'm happy to pay for the privilege (provided it comes in at less that I could buy tomorrow at flying brick).

So at 8AM I arrive at Thrifty / Dollar in Greenpoint with four straps (which I havent yet purchased), and not the slightest clue how to attach said implement onto said other implement. Any useful advice?

I'll check later on on my phone if any have responded, otherwise you can find me on 062 548 6949 or dqbartlett@gmail.com.

Thanks fellas.

come in to visit - we have the correct straps for sale, and I will check at BOTH shops either side of us to see if anyone has a spare wheel chock, and we can ask Yamaha and TracMac, too...

Hi there Zebra and all

I hired a bakkie from Dollar / Thrifty, who are running an amazing special - I got 30 days hire of a bakkie with 4000 free kms for R4990, after Rent-a-cheapie offered one for me at R8947 and the other guys come in at over 10 G's! Thrifty is right next to the Harley shop.

The Thrifty people asked Harley if they had a ramp. All in all, Harley put the bike on the bakkie, strapped it down with their own straps, and charged me nothing for doing it OR for the straps. They did say they've never done a BMW before, and were relieved when I finally drove out..

Mega kudos to them!
