Would anybody happen to have an M14x1.0 high tensile hex nut lying around and be willing to part with it?

These are not available off the shelf from fastener suppliers and I am not yet willing to pay the 2 hours' labour I'm being quoted by a machine shop to make one up.

Thanks Kevin, but I have been to every major specialist fastener supplier in CT, and this is a special size that nobody local can help with, not even TopFast

Hi

Are you sure it is a M14 x 1 and not a M14 x 1.5.  Cant remember that I ve seen that fine a thread.

M14 x 2 is Standard and M 14 x 1.5 is fine. M14 x 1 will be moer fine??

Initially I thought a Balljoint nut will be that fine but they are all M14 x 1.5

Ek kan dan nie help

Ja, dankie Adie - I checked it with a thread gauge - it is MOER fine, to quote your pun (intentional or notLaughing) it is not even listed in any of the supplier catalogues.

I am being quoted anywhere between R400 - R800 to have one made up!

Thanks Ruan - I'm waiting for them to get back to me.

It's for the clutch shaft of a Jonway Master 300 scooter - first time I've ever seen such a fine thread being used in such an application. It's an "agents only" thing, or have it custom made, like I did ...
