The training team are looking forward to another interesting year to assist with your confidence to handle your motorcycle and to understand the dinamics of your dream machine.  We tried our best to supply you with an exciting programme as well as a couple of interesting surprises for 2019:

The Level 1, 2 and pillion Off Road training is as per BMW standards. We prefer and recommend riders to do Level 1 first and then move to Level 2.  This way we know they have learned the basics.  We recommend riders with a new bike to do a refresher of Lev 1 or 2 depending on their riding abilities as each bike have its own bonding space and dynamics.

Only 1 level can be completed on a day.

We cover:

- theory about rider gear, safety, rider position, bike set-up, dynamics of the BMW bike, tyre pressures, etc

Level 1: Explaining and adjusting the motorcycle, ABS de-activation, rider position, Off Road steering, cone riding, balancing, picking up the bike, leading the bike, slow riding, braking, Pillion riding

Level 2: Bike set-up, tyre pressures, rider position, cone riding, body position, angle riding,  stopping on a hill, uphill & down hill riding, sharp turns, sand riding, technical ride up a jeep track, high speed braking on gravel, gymkhana, sand and trail riding, etc.

Remember our rules still apply:  you only do what you feel comfortable with.  Come and have fun on that GS and challenge yourself .

We also cater for other brands.  Feel free to invite your friend/s on his Yamaha, KTM, Honda, etc.

Training venue:

We are fortunate to use the facilities at Anura Vineyards, Klapmuts.

The training days are presented in a fun and relaxed way....no losers...all winners!!!! Emphasis on safety and to bond with your dream machine.

Reminders and more details will follow closer to the date of the training days on this Forum and Donford Motorrad, Stellenbosch, Facebook page.

Many thanks to the training team of the BMWMCC who put so much time and effort into making motorcycling safer and enjoyable and creating these fantastic opportunities to improve skills, check out other peoples rides and gear and gadgets and bling and ATTGATT.

And the fact that we see other types of dual sport bikes and motorcyclists on these events is really lekker.

Thanks for helping to make life a ride.

Looking forward to the 2019 training campaign.

Jackie,

it will be level I and level II skills trialing for off-road riding.

This is repeated most months.

If you want to learn the basic skills of riding a duals sport bike off road, you will find this training very useful.

Do it every year, supportive environment, lots of technique to de-mistify riding off tar.

30 JUNE 2019:

The normal Lev 1, Pillion & Lev 2 Training will be part of this day.

To spice up the training a little bit and to accommodate our more advanced riders, the training team promised some more exciting training.

Join us on 30 June 2019 At Anura to up your skills to the next level; take yourself out of your comfort zone and push your off road riding limits.

We will be doing:

- extreme up and down hill riding

- learn how to position your body to get maximum up hill and down hill traction

- how to take control of your machine down hill

- correct method of braking

- learn how to control your GS/A in soft, muddy conditions

- to pull away in sand & how to free your machine once it gets stuck in mud or sand

- how to choose the correct line up rocky inclines and declines

- body position and braking techniques

Push yourself and your machine to the limits.

If time permits, we will be doing an outride to the Du Toits kloof forestry department tracks to cool down wink
