TraceTec

My TraceTec or shall I say `WaveTrend` RFID tag got loose under my seat! It was stuck on with double side tape. Not very secure in my view. The tag is supposed to be in a place that is not easily accessible and should not come loose. This could be a good time to test your TraceTec unit, who knows maybe it got lost on a off-road trip :-) pictures that I took while washing my bike... http://corne.ygm.co.za/#070929-TraceTec

Hi Corne, I used a cable-tie, through the eyelet, to strap the TraceTec in place. And then another cable-tie further down the body of the unit. Remember that each time you go over a bump, the unit tears away at the double sided tape. YES, it should never come off, but an oily surface, bad piece of tape and an excessive bump and your TraceTec unit is looking for a new owner. The second cable tie helps to prevent the unit from becoming undone. If it still comes loose, the first cable tie (through the eyelet) will hopefully prevent the unit from getting lost.

Hi Padlangs, Good idea, I've used double sided tape again but will certainly put a cable tie (through the eyelet). Thank you :-) Corné Kloppers 0849130391 ckloppers@gmail.com
