Throttle cable.

Hi Guys

Please give me your advice.

The main throttle cable on my r1200gs 2006 broke this weekend.

I removed it, took all the parts to a cable repairer.  They remade the cable using the original housing and fittings.

I installed it (a few times) but notice that there is no free play on the cable.

I screwed the adjuster in as far as it would go to make the cable longerst.

Still no freeplay and when I turn the throttle all the way open it doesnt bottom out before the cable "runs out".  I am concerned that this may put strain on the plastic junction box (where the 3 cables connect to the wheel) and break it.

Could the cable repairer have made the replacement too short?

Looking forward to your advice.

Initially it sounds as though the cable is too short. Are all the cables correctly seated into their "terminal positions"?

It was seated.

I took it back to the cable guy and asked them to lengthen it by 15mm.  It now fits perfectly.
