Have a look at this long pass in Namaqualand between Kharkams and Spoegrivier. It carries a whole bunch of alternative names including, Systershoogte, Syfershoog, Syfershoogte, Maermanskloof Pass, Kharkams Pass and Spoegrivier Pass. You can enjoy a jaunt down to Bethelsklip - an oddly shaped granite rock that was used as a place of worship in the mid 1800's and is still used for the same purpose today.

If you don't like corrugations, then this one will shake your teeth loose. It has amongst the worst corrugations we have ever driven over anywhere in SA, but the scenic rewards are well worth the shake, rattle (and hopefully not roll). We produced a short overview video of the little settlement at Spoegrivier and this road together with the Skurfhoogte Pass provides a very interesting and different alternative route to Hondeklipbaai for those not in a hurry.

Your navigation needs to be good as there are many turn-offs and hardly any of them are sign-posted. There are a total of 3 videos to enjoy. The page will remain 'open' until Sunday. Enjoy!
