In the attached file you can find instructions for some simple steps to get a much smoother running R1150 motor, especially in the higher revs. Just cut the air intake funnels as shown. It really makes a difference. The o-rings between the throttle unit and the air intake usually swell, so get 2 o-rings 53x2mm just in case. The only disadvantage is a little more noise coming from the air filter box when accelerating, although I like it.
