skills challenge GSC

Was talking to a employee of BMW yesterday and he noted that they (employees) are not allowed to take part in the skills challenge at the GSC after a long discussion we all agreed that this seems unfair as what advantage do they really have, you can either ride at that level or you can't. If however they do have an advantage and it would be unfair to other competitors as the prize is quite substantial, then at least allow them to compete in the challenge but not for the prize. I for one understand from their point of view, they would like to compete to establish how well they ride and where they are placed in the challenge will determine this. Imagine working with motorcycles all day everyday loving it and then at the biggest event of the year you have to stand on the sidelines. They also have to pay the full entrance fee. Who agrees??

I agree and i think some of the other dealers will also agree. The GAGSC is a event where all the competitors come to have some fun, and break away from everyday things.

Sorry Ruan judging buy the lack of comments it seems you will be a threat and therefore must stand on the side and watch the others have fun, you can help freak hand out the lolliepops to the other competitors. no man ever ended a war by dying for his country he ended a war by making some other guy die for his country

I take sweets from strangers We will be handing out free Tequila lollies to all competitors before they ride. How about a little enduro for da fastboyz? I fall asleep when I ride slow, last year I was the one who did the skills the fastest ever ,and lost the most points EVER! (thought the log obstacle was a tabletop I did) RetardRetard I RIDE THEREFORE I AM!

BMW EMPLOYEES SHOULD TAKE PART. I agree that any person shouyld be allowed to qualify for the skills challenge. And maybe they don't qualify for the prize but hell man I learn so much from watching Taurik, Chris Hamman and Ruan doing the challenge. I'm sure there are many other people who are also employees who can demonstarte what these machines are capable of doing. I lot of the fears I had fell away at Nelsons Creek after watching these guys do the skills challenge course. They also answered my many questions of how they managed to get the bike to do what it did. Ther role-modelship helped my growth and I for one would love to know where they rank in the echelons of the Challenge contestants. In fact I bought my 1150GSA based on their experiences and have never looked back since. Andyman Yup that's me. Standing up in the traffic on the 1150GSA.

It seems most agree, well all who have posted agree that employees of BMW should be allowed to take part in the event. So where do we go from here any ideas? How can we push this feeling through to the organisers of the gsc, and do we stand a chance at changing the decision to allow these guys to take part??? at times I ride faster than my guardian angle can fly

Dave, would you forward our feelings to the powers that be? Thanks
