Does anybody know the requirements to sell a bike to a non-SA citizen? I have someone interested in Mr.Badger, who wants to ride it up to Ethiopia. I think he is Russian.
What does he need to do to be able to buy the bike?
The buyer must apply for a traffic register

Thanks Hugh
And then it seems, to take the bike out of the country they also need to 'export' it, with police clearance and a permit, as per: https://www.carzar.co.za/blog/leaving-south-africa-export-your-car-or-sell-it-export-laws
Registering with the traffic system requires the person in person, and an original FICA document (which is impossible to do if you are flying in, buying a bike and riding up through Africa) (unless you are indeed a criminal, in which case it is easy).
Does he intend returning to RSA Charles?
No - he wants to buy the bike here, then ride up to Ethiopia, then presumably sell it there, or ship it home to Ukraine or wherever.
OK.
