Thanks once again to Wernich Stipp from Barons Volkswagen in Tokai for offering us the use of a fantastic Volkswagen Amarok, back up crew and fuel.
So folks, thanks to Barons, the price for accomodation and meals is all it is going to cost you.
So come on guys, the multitude of fantastic routes to use to get to Oudtshoorn and back has us in a bit of a spin. For the dirties there is the Swartberg Pass, Seweweekspoort, Rouxpos, and easily some of the most fantastic dirt roads in the Province.
For the roadies there is the R62 and too many beautifull tar passes to mention.
The atomosphere at Kleinplaasie is always tops, the food is amazing and we always have a brilliant time there.
So what are you waiting for. This is going to be a top weekend.

13 May is Mothers Day. For those leaving "Mother" behind what are the anticipated return times on the Sunday ? If it is late it really could rather be a "sleep with the dog ride" rather than an "Autumn mix it up ride"

Geoff please check your list.
I am - Ride option 3 - Accommodation option 1. Not Leon Lee 2 & 3 .
I see on the list that +-16 will be doing ride 3. I see +-8 is doing ride 2. We can combine and have 2 sweepers. One in the middle for the fast guys and me in the back for the layback . You and Warren can compete for front position and to see which has the better bike - 800 or 1200. Just a suggestion.
Also check the Connells....they chose ride 3 (not 2)
Louise & I would have loved to join, but we will be in Thailand at the time, hopefully not dodging tsunami's.
Ronnie Marchant & Jacques Terblanche from Barons will be driving the back up vehicle.
Hein Carstens.

2 more sleeps!!
Thanks Warren, Geoff, Max n company.
Thanks for for a safe and memorable trip to Oudtshoon and back.
Had a blast!
Was really good to get out and dirty with the group again.
At the start, because of the deep sand, Geoff suggested lower than normal tyre pressure- sure helped in the deep sand.
HOWEVER, my first trip on Anna, fully loaded in campaign mode.
I was not comfortable on the ADV.
It felt very skittish and pranced around on the gravel which gave me no confidence in corners.
Consequently I road as sweep with Tony where I could slow down for every kink in the road.
Then 560 kilos into the weekend I added 0.2 bar into front and back- bringing them up to front 1.6 and rear 1.8 bar.
Suddenly the skittish colt was gone and a randy stallion replaced it.
I could point Anna anywhere at any speed and she became as sure footed as a mountain goat.
My confidence was restored and I am amazed at how much difference finding that sweet spot in tyre pressure can make.
Absolutely amazing.
