I have a F800S, the road bike.

What will happen if ride on a gravel road? Will I fall on my ass? Yell

I used to have a R65 road bike and it was very happy on gravel roads.

probably! risky stuff that and bad for the longevity of your bike.... unless of course you travel at very low speeds.

There is a guy in the Club that has an old road BMW and he occasionally rides off road on it with us.

I would not recommend it but he is happy to do it and he has always gone where we go!

I have ridden my RT on gravel roads often. I let the tyres down a bit and away I go! I ride at about 80 to skip the bumps. Just don't go on hectic gravel.

We were on our way to to Phuthaditjhaba from Jo'burg, criss-crossing the N3 on the back roads. We encountered dirt roads along the way. My friend was on a 1200 sport which handled the dirt without any hassle. In all we did about 60K's there and back on dirt. Roughly 900 for the day, great ride thru the Golden Gate.Dirt bikeDirt bikeDirt bikeDirt bike
