Archive of BMW Motorrad Club Cape (2006 - 2019)

Hi I'm hoping someone can advise me: i want to re-chrome my mirrors and stems of my 1981 R65. i found a place in cape town called Lusinco electroplating. they say I'll have to remove the glass mirrors myself before they will chrome it. Can i remove the glass and rubbers myself? Is it easy? Is it advisable or not? Thanks ChrisMy 1981 R65: My 1981 R65
