Rain, Snow, Wind, my R1200 GSA is build for this - no problem !!!
Just wish I had my proper pants on then the jean would not still be so wet....

It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed.
I'm the guy that'll be sneaking out of the bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at my bike.

Well, I did not use my bike for the commute today, nor did I use the car. I guess its OK to walk 50m to work every now and then. LOL
P.S. Planning on going through to Franschhoek later and I will be taking the bike.
Treat them mean it keeps them kean.....

Put on the (apparently not) waterproof pants and jacket. Saw some lovely diesel on the road.
Yesterday we had some rain in Newlands, and though my son got through Wynberg hill (big diesel spill, I saw a bike being loaded onto a trailer there and sand on the road), he was not so lucky lane-splitting in front of SACS: a car stopped to let someone out of their driveway, and Philip came flying in between the cars. Indicators, bent crashbar, back-brake pedal, ego, and a bruised leg. (Oh, and a big scratch on the car).
Although it was nobody's fault per se, I put it down to stupid lane-splitting and general unawareness of what can happen. I just hope he learns from these incidents faster than his luck runs out...
Daniel you can always take a detour on your way to work :-)
I commute 50km a day to work and back and at least twice a week I do a 20km odd detour ;-)

I took my Bike into Atlantic and got rained upon on my way into town. Just enough rain to dirty the bike and wet my jacket.
Hectic traffic into town?????????????
Managed to miss it going home again.
So the new bike FINALLY is dirty GR?

I'm in for a wet ride later today, I did not pack in my rain suit, never have trusted the weather man...

Ladies and Gents, THAT is why you leave a cheap pair of rain pants in the topbox.
My bike is locked in the garage while the driveway is being repaved. My punishment for this was a loooooooong drive to work in the "box". At least I moved way into the yellow lane each time I saw a bike catching up - how I wished to be on one of those bikes.
Relax guys - it was not Brenda.

My car is a status symbol, seldom used. I don't mind rain.

Nope, as Johan says - it was not Brenda Buttercup (she would have had a whole lot more to say had she been involved in such an event ;)
Philip is on a 180cc Bajaj Pulsar. Brenda now belongs with Matthew, who is almost 20, and writes his learners tomorrow. After that I hope to have him at a club ride or two...
For the record, (and for practicing my english) I also drove in the rain today. Not that I think I am totally relaxed though! Friday 2 weeks ago I was driving through more rain from Brackenfell to Noordhoek. Some up to date riding tips for rain in the driving skills department will defenitely be read by me...
(O ja, Padlangs - still coming the long way round as you explained, for huisbesoek!)
