Quaterdeck

12 bikes and 16 people gathered at Engen Plattekloof for this ride. Martin and Annetjie Colman and Danie and Caren Jordaan joined for their first ride with the club. Jane’s brother also came along to ride with us. William was also back for his first ride after his back operation. He still gets a nasty twitch in his back when he changes gears on the bike, thus he only accompanied us until Ladies Mile. Hopefully his next ride will be a little further. Suddenly everybody just started getting comfortable and chatty. Dave and I eventually just had to start our bikes to remind everybody that we still had some distance to go. A nice slow cruise over Ou Kaapse weg took us all the way to Simonstown. By now we were 22 bikes and 30 people. Special bike parkingSpecial bike parking At Quaterdeck we pulled into “normal” parking bays, as we know that the cops frown on bikers leaving normal bays open to cars. Before I had removed my helmet the manageres was there to show us that she had arranged parking next to the bus lane for us. A large number of tables were reserved for us. The service was top-notch. The food was also very tasty. I had to go straight back to home, so Neil led the “extended ride”. I am sure he will report back on their ride. I will post some picture at a later stage. Remember the DAY RIDE on 26 December 2007.

Yes great service, I saw the manageress encouraging her staff. The parking in the bus parking bay made things easy and hat was passed around for parking...R 53.00 collected and paid for which reciept No 17532 was given. We +-11 bikes rode..Cape Point,Red Hill turn- off where Cheesy left us( to go and post some mischieveous questions on the forum ,which I`m sure he typed with a straight face). We continued on through Scarbrough to Kommetjie. The bumpy sections were difficult for the 2 Hondas, Jane`s CBR 400RR and her brother`s CBR600RR, however Jane beat the bumps by standing slightly (taking her er, er, back part which goes on the saddle, off it)and putting her weight or is that mass on the pegs, thereby raising her COG en en ek weet nie wat nog.... A slight navigational error saw yours truly take the group through a section of the suburb of Fish Hoek .From there via OU Kaapse Weg and Constantia to Hout BAY where we had a colddrink at Fish on the Rocks, then split up for home. All in all a great day. PS Cheesy all this typing for only3 points!!:-( :-)

Neil, be glad - on the old forum you only got ONE point for a reply!! ;) Sounds like you had a good after ride.
