If you find yourself with some spare time in the Grahamstown area, head off to ride this thoroughly rewarding gravel pass with the peculiar name. It traverses three game reserves which are all interlinked to form one of the largest reserves in the Eastern Cape. The reserves are packed with game, including black rhino and hippopotamus. Near the summit the Adam Krantz view-site offers spectacular views over the Great Fish River valley and the route will take you over the old steel lattice bridge.

This is the land that was tamed by Thomas Bain's pioneering father - Andrew Geddes Bain, who left his legacy in the area with fossils and roads named after him. Bain senior is still considered today as the father of South African geology. The link below will take you to our latest news page as well as to the Pluto's Vale Pass page. Enjoy! the page will remain open to all until Sunday evening. We have also introduced a free 7 day trial via the same link for anyone wanting to test the site out.
