I am looking for the post/article that Cheesy wrote some time ago about the history of the club. I think he posted it after the Dixies run, possibly on the same thread - just cant seem to find it now. Any other info about the history of the club is also welcome. THANKS

Thanks Vernon Cheesy only refers to the article in this thread. He did a whole thing about the origin of the club, the first ride to some place in Seapoint that no longer exists, etc, etc. I know I read the article somewhere - but WHERE ??? Rene, do you possibly still have the original article? Or does somebody know where I can find it?

Chris, he does mention something about the run to the Purple Cow in Seapoint if you scroll down to one of his postings on the same thread. At the front of every adventure is a BMW

Here it is: Hi Fellows Allow me correct some of the misconceptions in the above. The first run (1979)was to the Purple Cow ice cream parlour in Sea Point (Do any of you remember this place?) which has subsequently closed down. I am the second owner of this machine, came complete with owners manual, tool kit and indicators (still tpo be fitted) Date of birth: 1966. Remember!! Bum in the saddle, always. Aha, thanks Vernon. I also spoke to Rene. He will let me have the "rest" of the story in due course.
