Morning all, I'm just putting feelers out there for the appetite of more intimate track sessions at Killarney.
As you all know the circuit, perhaps over subscribed due to shortage of venues, and consequently tricky to get slots.
The circuit is available (subject to availability) Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays, most Friday slots 4 to 6 are taken but earlier in the day is available. One can usually get time slots on Wednesdays and Thursday
There will / are NO MEDICAL facilities available during the event, I would like to hear from some Doctors who may be interested in assisting - with some fringe benefits.
The rules of circuit use are fairly simple, only 3 vehicles on the circuit at any one time, circuit can be hired for a 2 hour period @ R3000. To make it economical we need at least 8 participants, with a little profit to cover my costs, R400 per person.
If there is interest please post here, and what day / time slots would work best.
many thanks
Max Lange
I just want to say Guys & Ladies make use of this as it is a great opportunity to sharpen those riding Skills in a Safe Enviroment at very reasonable cost and Max is an Excellent Trainer.(i am not paid for this LOL !! )
I think this is a fantastic initiative Max.
You should ask Charles to send it out to the Club Data Base.
I'm interested
Hi. Great idea. I am interested - any time on either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
Thanks Max, I'm interested.
Yes please, but a morning slot will suit me best.
I will need to get bike insurance just for the "track day" as my bike insurer will not cover any track riding, regardless.
Does anyone know of an insurer who might offer a once off one day cover?
Deon i had many meetings with Guardrisk (underwriters for BMW Insurance) few years ago and to convince them that they should cover properly organised Track days i put it to them that if they refuse then we (that was Chris from Hamman Motorrad) would do the Training on a Saturday Morning in Tygervalley area where you have Pedestrians Taxis ETC Etc.and in event of an accident they would have to Pay(they agreed with this argument) as you are riding on a Public road and you are covered. We had many Track days and not one Incident. They eventually saw the Light.Have not been Involved since Aug 2012 so things might have changed but you could use the above to try and convince your Insurers to understand that it is far safer on the track (no Racing !!!) than on any public Road.Absolutely Controlled Enviremont. They seem to get stuck on the fact that you use a Race Track and assume that you are going to race.
Good Luck

Cheers
Chris
