I, and quite a few other people I know of, have wanted to ride the Old Postal Route which runs between the Biedouw Valley and Elandsvlei near the R355 for some time now and so here it is, but with a slight twist because for a variety of reasons we will use the Biedouw Valley and the farm Mertenhof as a base camp for the weekend, meaning you will ride the route in both directions.

To join us you will need a couple of hours off work on the Friday as we intend to go up to the Biedouw on Friday afternoon (we are aiming to leave by 15H00 at the very latest), so we get to stay for two nights, and on the same weekend we will ride home via Wupperthal and Eselbank, with lunch at the popular Cederberg Oasis. If you cannot get some time off work, you are also welcome to come through a little later, the road to the Biedouw Valley has only 14km of dirt these days and it is still light until quite late.
