Trip reports

For those that were hibernating while our beloved webmaster moved things about on the site. When the new format kicked off, trip reports were at the bottom of the main page. (Not that any of us understand why a trip report does not belong in the section called "trips and tours") This quickly slowed down the down loading of the main page, so it was moved to another location. Now you need to go to the top of the page and click on "Articles" - no you still dont see the trip reports. You now have to look in the blue section and click on "Trip reports", now you get to see the list - klick on it to enlarge the trip report that you want to see. I am sorry but this is way to manny clicks for me. :( Should you read the Nags head report - I am sorry those are not my photos. I have given up waiting almost 5 minutes per photo to load. I vaguely remember other people mouthing off about problems when trying to load pictures - last week. I am thankful for all Charles's efforts with this site - maar ek is nou gatvol vir die ....... Let me stop here, I am getting working up about the way this site does not work and am about to say things that should probably be left alone.

ChristoE, jou laaste paragraaf beskryf my gevoel baie goed. "Beter" beteken baie min as die gebruikers ongelukkig is. Nou-ja terug by jou stelling - Dit is beter vir my bloeddruk om nie hier te probeer om foto's te laai nie. :( Kan iemand ook probeer om vir my te verduidelik hoekom n "Trip Report" nie by "Trips and Tours" behoort nie, asseblief.

Ok guys - come to me at the next club meeting and I will show you that I can upload pictures in a few short minutes dialed up via my cellphone on my steam-powered laptop. If you have long uploads it is due to some problem on your side, not the site itself. Only some people are complaining, not '''everybody'''. So, come show me your problem and let's talk about fixing it for you. kind regards Website Administrator

nicely said Charles don't bitch ask for help and fix the problem otherwise we will soon be without a forum. You guys are obviously short of drive space on your pc 's try deleting windows this will give you more space. at times I ride faster than my guardian angle can fly

I use two completely different machines- laptop with cell dial up at home and desktop with broadband link at work. Both machines give me the same problem when trying to load pictures onto THIS forum. I am getting tired of asking the same question (and seeing others ask it as well).

Strange how preferences and ways-of-doing-things differ from person to person. Dis genoeg vir my.

My site still looks funny, all the contents that's supposed to be in the blue column, is way down on the page and in white. I've done what you said to me (Middelpos) but no luck. Any suggestions? Johann

Hi Johann - with the help of Padlangs I identified a mistake I made in the configuration for IE6. I uploaded the fix this morning, and found that I had to press F5 a few times, and even hold the control key down while clicking on the 'Refresh' button. IE is particularly stubborn about '''not''' getting the latest files off the web, even when you tell it to by pressing F5. Please try some more and let me know. kind regards Website Administrator

My screen was fine then on Monday the blue column dropped its content way down. I F5'd until I went blue myself, nothing happened. The next time I logged on it was fine. I've come to grips with this forum and it works fine for me. No worries, I have no hassles at the momnet. I enjoy the contributions. Keep em' coming Andyman Yup that's me. I also have no problem with the site. Once you know where everything is and how it operates, you simply can't forget it! Pictures are an absolute dream to upload and add to reports. Another plus is that you will always have each picture uploaded in your personal picture library to draw from. Ok, so the site is slightly different from the old one, but then we're moving forward and it can only get better from here. The only thing constant in life (just about)is change...and riding your BMW bike of course (ahem).

A list of the 10 most recent trip reports is again on the bottom of the home page. You can sort it by date, number of reads, title etc. Website Administrator
