Enjoy, see you on the 14th
I did the green route with Rony on Sunday. It is awesome. Beautiful scenery, lovely riding.
It is so beautiful that it is worth it for more experienced riders too. If you are thinking of doing the orange route, bear in mind that this year the orange route is a deep orange - you need to be at an intermediate level to be able to ride it (steep ascents and descents). You might have a lot more fun on the green route (especially if you have a pillion).
For the off-road novice, the green route offers well-behaved gravel and some pleasant farm roads. There are escape routes and a few tar sections, for those who are not sure they can handle the full 190km.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Green route. No scary bits although there is some fun loose surface but not enough to make it unpleasant for a beginner.
My Dakar's front wheel waved at me once or twice to assure me that it was perfectly capable of managing without me.
Wonderful scenery, good fun and great offroad experience for any level of rider. (G. Russel the Enduro winner and Russel R. the Hooligan both sang its praises!)
I certainly wouldn't mind doing it again. Anyone who does the whole trip will definitely enjoy the beer and bed afterwards.

Orange of last year is greenish compared to this years Orange. More sand, steeper ups and downs, some loose bits, some tight corners.
It is Orange, not yellow orange or light orange ....'''Orange''' I would advise intermediate training course as entry level.

How does this year's orange route compare with last year's?
I did the orange last year.
Steve just go for the orange, I'm also thinking of doing the orange route. I can't remember what I did last year.
The ride this weekend organised by Andy (XT660R) will also be pretty orange, me thinks ;-)

I heard the Red route is quite tough this year!

I've been curtailing my humour lately but couldn't resist this one. Apologies - Charles you can delete it if there are complaints :-{
