Since Johan keeps on putting up these multi coloured routes I thought I'd join in - with the the RIGHT colour. ;) BLACK as in that colour your licence fees are supposed to pay for - TAR. The mystery tour is ALL SET!!! The ....... is ready and at ........ (how do I tell you all these good bits with out spoiling the MYSTERY?) Nevermind, I can tell you this - there will be at least 5 prizes for the mystery tour group. So if you can't hop-skip-and-jump your bike in the dust, here is something where you have a fair chance to win something. Of course the ON-road bikes will get certain "help". But who said life is fair? There are limited space for the mystery ride - PRE-REGISTERED RIDERS WILL HAVE PREFENCE TO DAY VISITORS!! Register NOW!! Johan and Christo your names are on the list for this ride. ALL others to see Brian on Friday to add their names to the list, please.

Hi Chris, Unfortunately I am now part of the off road guys which will be leading a route, I cannot do the mystery ride anymore - I would love to but simply can't. Thnx for all the effort and planning towards both this ride and Nelsons Creek. Keep it SAFE !!

Warran even though you registered online you need to pick up your "wrist band" at the registration tables. Just please stop at the next table and confirm your mystery tour spot - afterwards you will understand why. ;) This "mystery" thing is making it difficult to communicate properly.

Christo, My Dakar needs some TLC on Friday. If it is not the ride for the weekend, I'd like to do the mystery ride. So, I'll only know on Friday whether I'm on the RT or the Dakar. Please put me down as "tentative" for the mystery ride. Muchas Gracias, Lawrence Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safetly in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadsides, loudly proclaiming WOW, What a RIDE!

Strange that my name is not there, I confirmed and paid long ago, I even bought a tent to prove I am not a sissy like the "greeny"

The feedback from those that took part in the Mystery Ride was VERY GOOD. :) Dave is already looking into doing a Mystery breakfast run. It would probably turn into a Breakfast and Lunch run. Who's in ?????????????

I enjoyed the mystery tour. I'm in. How about some forced stops for refreshments / photos / taking in scenery on the next one. No chocolate this time Jane! Whether you think you can, or can't, you'll find you're right!

If you can dream it you can do it!

Pete, Jane's chocolate brought you guys to the right time. :) Unfortunately you made one mistake with the answers. :( Only 6 people managed to get ALL the answers right. The last recce ride I did was in the bakkie. The whole distance at speed +10 to 15, and NO stops. I just kept on checking the distances as I passed them. At this rate it took me 2 and a half hours to do the ride - with NO traffic. One gent (with a pillion) did the whole ride in 2 hours 15 minutes!!! Including the stops to get all the answers.

Thanks guys - I thought the mystery tour was a brilliant idea. Well done. I'd definitely want to join a mystery breakfast run. The only comment I have is that it can get a little lonesome departing staggered like that, and the warm, fuzzy pack feeling is lost- perhaps one could make up small (2-5) groups to compete? Pieter

Dis vol kringe, strepe in alle rigtings in pot blou. To Chris and Brian,SORRY I missed it,PeteO was kind enough to take Jane as pillion, and Jane kind enough to let me go on the red route,as it was possibly a once off, being private land (and some dirt)off I went. Please do this again possibly a longer round the cape or round the peninsula ride with a breakfast and lunch stop? I would love to make it! A really great idea, thanks again Gents.

A lovely ride, well organised. Thank you to Chris and Brian for all the effort put in. As some of you are aware, I have a tendency to fall asleep when pillion .... well, not on The Mystery ride; directing the rider and answering the questions in the booklet provided, kept me alert; I was able to enjoy the scenery as requested. Pete, thank you for following my instructions exactly, even if incorrect! :-) Sorry about the chocolates, not my brightest moment :-) (Pete was not too amused when I sat on his bag, squishing two melted Bar Ones all over the contents.) I would definitely love to participate in the next Mystery ride, this time solo.

Neil, you'll have to be prepared for some pretty unfair judging. We could have done a LOT better if the judges hadn't moved a restaurant and a winery to opposite sides of the road just before we got there!!! Amazing what lengths they will go to! Whether you think you can, or can't, you'll find you're right!

If you can dream it you can do it!

That wouldn't happen to be Opstal (where Jane has had breakfast) would it? That was sneaky of them, they probably used Pinkfords to move them around.

Soetimes you can't win! You obey instructions without hesitation, but because I kept her awake and then made some innocent comment like "FINE" when the inside of my bag was altered to look like a baby's nappy after a hearty meal of prune and pear Purity goo, she's now going solo! Mystery tour indeed!!! Whether you think you can, or can't, you'll find you're right!

If you can dream it you can do it!

PeteO said: "Amazing what lengths they will go to!" Just ask William what lengths we go. ;) He was chirping me the whole week leading up to Nelson's Creek. Thus we "had to" remove the board which indicated the height of Du Toits Kloof pass. But magically we happen to put it back in time for all the other participants. :)
