In these financially tough times the organising team led by Johan de Jager and Andy Connell have managed to squeeze more value into the event than ever before. Some of the improvements for a more pleasurable time at NC09: * Lifeguards at the swimming pool. * A programme for sale containing a map of the estate, skills challenge rules and regulations, emergency contact details, exhibitors' list, details about the mystery ride as well as off road outrides, etc. * Wine auction of some of the quality wines produced at Nelson’s Creek on Friday evening. * A Spitbraai Friday night whilst enjoying some live entertainment. * Delicious breakfast Saturday morning. * Gala evening with prize giving on Saturday night, with a 3-course meal, followed by energetic live entertainment which will get you on the dance floor. * Loads of prizes for the skills challenge, gymkhana and mystery ride, as well as lucky draw prizes. * Exhibitors showing us all the latest gadgets available to help us enjoy our bikes even more. * Confirmed presence and participation of all 3 our local Western Cape BMW dealers, namely Atlantic Motorrad, Donford Motorrad & Hamman Motorrad. * A Sunday outride before breakfast to whet the appetite. * A skills challenge which will test all the skills taught at the respective CountryTrax courses, from intro rider to advanced. All different motor sizes as well as female and rider/pillion groups will be catered for. The 1st round being on Friday afternoon and the finals on Saturday afternoon. * Fashionable Nelson’s Creek 2009 shirts for sale. * A better and more luxurious camping ground area. Some of the facilities on the estate have been upgraded to ensure an even better time than was had last year. Although the 2009 registration fee is a bit more than it was for NC08, the improvements make it excellent value for money. This is why numbers are limited and groups from Gauteng and PE have already indicated that they want to travel down for the event. To avoid disappointment [http://bmwmotorcycleclubcape.co.za/nelsons-creek-2009-registration please book and pay soonest] – we really want to see you here. [http://bmwmotorcycleclubcape.co.za/NC09-payment-instructions Money in the bank] will guarantee your spot. [http://bmwmotorcycleclubcape.co.za/nelsons-creek-gathering View the Event Programme here]. Please feel free to contact myself or Andy if the need arises. Kindest Regards, Johan de Jager & Organising Committee NC09.

Charles how "dare" you ??? "Details" of the mystery ride will have to remain a mystery .... :) At best the starting time and starting procedure will make it into the programme. Seriously though - we have learnt a few lessons with last years event. These were used in compiling the new route and .... (sorry cant tell you more) This WILL BE A STUNNING EVENT !!!

All that we (Padlangs & I) can tell about the Nelsons Creek 2009 mystery ride on Saturday is that it will include a lunch stop. The lunch / refreshment stop will be approximately half way into the tour. The 2009 Mystery tour will be a major improvement over the previous one at Nelsons Creek 2008.

Right, so I've just booked my spot for Nelson's Creek. As Charles has mentioned the registration fee is a bit more than last year. Fortunately I'm in the position to still afford attending, and from what I read (and hear) it would be worth the money and once again a great event. HOWEVER - R150 entrance fee for day visitors (in other words if someone wants to come and look at the skills challange it's going to cost them R150?) is in my opinion not realistic.

Bester I am not part of the 2009 organizing committee, BUT was involved with the previous two events. In 2008 a LARGE number of people bypassed the "costs" by just showing up on Saturday and taking part in events. The reality is that is costs a HUGE amount of money to put this together. The more people that show up on Saturday only for a "freeby" the MORE THE WEEKENDERS MUST PAY !! Again I say that I am NOT involved with the committee, but I do understand and SUPPORT their efforts to bring EVERYBODY A WEEKEND of fun and entertainment at the best possible price.

Ja bester, Padlangs is right. The club incurs the cost of the facilities for the whole weekend. We have organized events, displays and exhibits for the whole weekend. We want families to join us for the whole weekend. This is not a day-trip with the option of camping over - it is a whole weekend (I think you get the picture ;) So yes, we are deliberately loading the cost of a day visit. Unbelievably, last year, there were people who paid the day-visitor fee of R50, then proceeded to help themselves to breakfast and/or dinner and other parts of the event they had not paid for. We are also organizing a ride on Sunday so that people don't pack up on Saturday evening and cut the whole thing short. But you are quite right - the event is going to be a lot better. We have learnt from previous events and gotten some very good suggestions. I'm looking forward to seeing you there - it is going to be awesome.

I do agree that there should be some control over who comes in and what they do. If you want to participate in any of the events / meals / etc you should pay. But lack of control over some should not cause for loading the day fee scaring off others. Last year I had some friends and family, who do not own motorcycles and would thus not come for the entire weekend, who came to watch the skills challange. In my opinion this promotes the sport / brand /lifestyle. Sadly I wont invite them again this year.

As far as I am aware, there is no fee for spectators. The day visitor fee is for riders who want to do the outride. Your family can still come to watch the skills challenge. The skills challenge on Saturday will be the finals, because the elimination rounds are being held on Friday. This means your family will see even more exciting riding and thrills and spills. I will together with Andy look into this and revert with a solution, no need to worry Bester, invite your friends and family, something will be in place. It is getting more and more complicated as we are making changes to the original plans, thus meaning more manpower and supervision, the goal however remains the same "having a great weekend with our friends and families". Hey Guys and Girls!!!!!!! I'm certainly looking forward to spending this time with new and old friends doing the thing I love the most, "Motor Biking". I enjoyed last years event so much i decided to committ to assist the organizers with the next event at Nelsons Creek. And boy oh boy!!! Its going to be a blast with a little bit of biking in between having lots of fun. One thing is for certain, FUN we will all have. Once again I'm looking forward to seeing you all at this top draw annual BMW event in the Cape. Rusty in the eye of adventure.

It is only one month till Nelsons Creek 2009 !! Currently the registration list is too short (and the paid list even shorter). PLEASE let the committee know about your intentions for this event. If you intend to join but can only pay at the end of January PLEASE contact Johan !! Please do not let this event go the same route as the Chrismas dinner .....

My attraction this year is that last year I realized it is a family event. It is a weekend away with the family and kids. In fact I am bringing along some of my kids friends as well. I may be selfish and be the only one to go on the outride but at least the family will have a weekend away as well. We are all looking forward to it.

I'll be there. So ya'll might want to reconsider bringing your daughters. LOL. Jokes aside. I almost changed my mind about attending this year (money, timing, blah blah blah), but then I think of what an amazing time I had last year. Def not gonna miss it!
There are so many problems in this world. Luckily there's a wristband available for almost all of them.

Die hele Nelsons Creek is in beter kondisie as laas jaar. Ons het nog nooit gese dat daar erens anders as op dieselfde plek gekamp gaan word nie ;-) Johan de Jager "It's all about the ride, nothing else"

Ek dink dit was Hermanator wat genoem het dat die kampeer plek geskuif word. ANyway, pla my nie. Onthou net om julle tent penne by huis te los en hammer en spykers saam te bring - werk baie beter!

Hi Charles - I refer to your reply about the camp site (see below). I really hope that we are not in the parking lot again. There is a new camping spot Submitted by charles on 31 October 2008 - 1:38pm. There is a new camping spot on lush lawn. Daniel Nelson assures us that conditions will be much improved. Thanks for this rick ;-) I'll print it out and eat it :) At the time that I wrote that I was repeating what I had been told or had interpreted from what I heard. Sorry. Apparently the campsite is in the same place as last year, but the surface has been improved. However, I believe that nails instead of tent pegs are still a good idea :) Website Administrator [http://honeybadger.net Honey Badger IT Services]

I think that this needs some punctuation. Is it " Ek bring sommer 'n windmatras en my vroulief, en al my bekommernisse verdwyn." or is it " Ek bring sommer 'n windmatras, en my vroulief en al my bekommernisse verdwyn."? Ouch!

I'm in for the people and the riding, I quite enjoyed the terraced camp site, the ground was a bit stony but no real problem, but take 6" nails and a hammer for tent pegs!

Always the same guys about the same things? Why oh Why? A lot of effort has gone into this event, a lot of extra planning & attention to deail. Take Friday night for 1 example, last year it was a "braai for yourself", we had some braai packs there for those who wanted us to cater and have their meat at NC for them; this year we have a sptibraai going, with chicken on the side, salads, garlic loafs with live entertainment....all you do is arrive, socialise and later dish for yourself - now is this not better than last year? If you don't want to come because of the ground being too hard, well....we are sorry but there is not much '''more''' we can do about that now is there?? I am there to spend time with friends and family, whom all share in the same passion as I do. This will be an enjoyable time with like minded people. Lets leave the negative and focus on the positive. "Ask not what your club can do for you but what you can do for your club" Johan de Jager "It's all about the ride, nothing else"

William from what I understand you dont have to sleep there to part-take in the mystery ride. But more to the point Wiliam - has your bike been fixed yet, and can you ride after the opperation? If so, JOIN the mystery ride. I put a LOT of hours into putting this together. Be assured that we aim to bring everybody a STUNNING RIDE.

Soory I'm cancelling, I can handle the drive into the campsite( risking life and bike), the bending of my tent pegs as I try to nail my tent down, as to the lack of a scented bath or sharing the pool with a roadie or a warm beer, the route can be pink green orange or red or even not knowing where I'm going( nothing new) ,it can even rain or boil, BUT Garlic,!!! NO GARLIC!!!, Loafs or not!!!! I'm outta here!
