Would like to hear about your wettest ride. Please this is a family site - wet as in rain, please.
Day one of the Hoggsback trip was probably the longest single distance that that I have spent in heavy rain - but then you are prepped for it.
On Thursday afternoon there was a little drizzle when I left Cape Town. In fact it was so light I did not even bother to put on my rain pants. The traffic was free flowing and it was a pleasure to be on the bike. Right opposite Century City the heavens opened, last time I experienced something like this was in Jo-burg. Visibility down to zero. At the bend just before the N7 a car aqua-planed into the barriers!! The drops were stinging me, right through a set of leathers gloves.
This weather only lasted for about 2 km - my trousers were soaked!!!
