My 2010 December Holiday trip

Abel's picture

Got capital approval from the higher headquarters in my household for a trip.  It was raining on our farm in the Karoo and it became another excuse for a good trip.

When I left Saldanha on Friday morning the clouds were still in the air and the daybreak was just awesome to see.

I know it is probably dangerous to ride these roads on your own.  At the same time, though, I knew that there is nothing that is cleaning my head like being on my own, alone on my 1200, in the middle of nowhere! This was a trip that I needed after a year of drama, spit and polish.

Nice report Abel.  It's a great feeling to be out in the wide open like that stoksielalleen, and to successfully cross the wild to reach your destination.

Nice report. I still have to do that part ofthe world. I also sometimes feel a bit "uncomfortable" when I ride 'stoksielalleen' on gravel roads, but on safer tar roads I appreciate my "me-time".
