Hi, I reasantly purchased my first MX-boots. My question: Is the metal plate covering the toe and sole section really necesary to keep the sole of the boot together? I am concidering to remove it as I do not plan to do proper MX and thus dragging the boot on the ground. I have heard rumours of riders damaging their bikes seats etc. (Make: Gaerne MX boots) Will not remove it if it weakens the structure to much Regards

My understanding is that the metal is there to protect your toes, not so that you can ''drag your feet''. I am no expert but Leon and other BMW instructors have instructed us to pick up our feet as soon as the bike is moving, because no good can come of dangling your feet in harms way. I may be totally wrong though when it comes to MX.
